Although his video is a bit dated, Rick Reilly explains a recent phenomenon that impacts my hometown–Omaha–that has made multiple appearances as an audible term in Denver Broncos’ football games.

(NFL insiders explain that the “Omaha” audible may mean “opposite”–as in, “Run the backup play instead of the one we called in the huddle”  or “Run the play we called in the huddle in the opposite direction” [e.g. go left instead of right].

Perhaps only the Broncos know what “Omaha” really means.
