Gasoline Prices

I stumbled across this chart about gasoline prices (adjusted for inflation of course) from 1929-2011 after viewing a scene from the original “Die Hard” movie (1988) that showed gas prices around $0.74/gallon–and I wondered if that was accurate.

The price appears correct, although Bruce Willis should have fueled up at whatever station he was running around at that point in the movie, as the chart notes that 1988 prices were $0.90/gallon (unadjusted for inflation).
